The Clothes Closet

Every Monday from 10-2 we open up our clothing pantry and offer free clothes and personal items to anyone in need. Housed at First-Centenary United Methodist Church in downtown Chattanooga, The Clothes Closet not only strives to meet the needs of our surrounding community through clothing and household items, but it also works to implement programs that promote and sustain community development.

Currently, we are able to provide employment for a woman in our ministry who was once homeless. Thanks to the generous support of our donors and volunteers, she is now housed and able to enjoy gainful employment while learning valuable retail skills.

We hope to expand the Clothes Closet program to include a fully-operating thrift store. Mondays will always remain free and open to the public; but by expanding the program to include a thrift store, we will expand our impact in creating sustainable community development here in Chattanooga.

Donations of toilet paper, laundry pods and detergent, toiletry items and new or slightly worn clothes may be dropped off at our offices located at First-Centenary United Methodist Church. Right now, the following items are needed most:

• Toothbrushes
• Toothpaste
• Body soap
• Toilet paper
• Underwear (male and female)
• Feminine hygiene products
• Diapers (all sizes)
• Clothes (male and female)
• Shoes (male and female)
• Socks
• Tide Pods
• Shampoo and Conditioner
• Dish Soap

We are truly amazed and grateful for the outpour of support this program has received from the community!
